Donna Ray Mott

Donna Ray Mott, 88, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away on March 17, 2023, at the University of Kansas Health Systems, Kansas City, Kansas.

Donna was born on June 20, 1934, in Warrensburg, Missouri, to Archie Lewis and Emma Jane (Sivils) Cash. She attended Warrensburg High School graduating in 1952. Donna was married on July 29, 1952, to Bob Mott of Midland, Texas.

Donna worked for the Unitog in Warrensburg, Missouri, Ward Paper Box Company in Kansas City, Kansas, and HD Lee Company in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1972, she moved to Huntsville, Arkansas and later settled in Clinton, Missouri in 2004.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Bob Mott, her parents, her brothers James and Kenneth Cash, and her sister Betty (Cash) Caldwell.

Donna is survived by one sister, Anna Samplo of Garden City, Michigan; Three daughters: Linda Mott of Kansas City, Missouri, Terisa Mott of Riverside, Missouri, and Kathy Stocker of Fayetteville, Arkansas; One son Bobby Brian (Jeannette) Mott of Burrow, Texas; Five grandchildren: Randy (Kristina) States of Shawnee, Kansas, Andrea States of Kansas City, Missouri, Tonya Overholser of Eagle River, Alaska, Bobbie (Kevin) Manson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Samantha Stocker of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Eight great grandchildren: Alyssa Cooper, Joseph States, Joshua States, Matthew Cooper, Zaelyn Overholser, Olivia Manson, Lincoln Mason, and Dash Overholser; Two great-great grandchildren: Scarlett Cooper and William States.

Donna is also survived by one sister-in-law, Sandra Cash of Clarkston, Washington; One niece, Donna Adele (Adolf) Heins of Blackburn, Missouri; Two nephews: Steven Samplo of Garden City, Michigan and Andrew Ace Cash of Clarkston, Washington.

Special friends, Marj Jackson and Dorothy Page, made her later years in Clinton good ones.

She lived in Clinton for the last 19 years. The Clinton Senior Center was a place she enjoyed meeting new people and participating their Tai Chi classes. Donna belonged to the Clinton Writers Group, the Clinton Artist Group, and she enjoyed Tai Chi.

Donna was proud member of the Marion Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Major Brian Pendleton Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Colonists. She wrote and published three books, was a folk artist, and was a painter with a focus on watercolors. Donna enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing Scrabble with her Scrabble group and her family.
