Tracy Rose Mattox 59, of Shawnee passed away on December 1, 2022. She was born on September 26, 1963 in Little Rock Arkansas to Thomas and Jean Stover. Tracy is survived by her husband John W. Mattox, her mother Jean Stover, brothers Eric (Kim), Sam (Shelly), Adam (Dana), Charlie and Matt (Amy) Stover as well as her sisters-in-law Kim (Dan) Johnson, Tash (Bob) Davis and Tabatha (Jeff) Hurley, aunts, uncles, several nieces and nephews, who absolutely adored her, as well as her fur baby Olympus.
Tracy met the love of her life in 1982 and married John in 1983. The two recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary on November 19th.
Tracy graduated from Park College with her BSN in Nursing and specialized in geriatric nursing for over 30 years. Although she was never a firefighter, she was the adopted “mother” to the men and women of the Shawnee Fire Department.
Tracy loved entertaining, cooking, and creating, all of which she shared with her family, friends and neighbors. Tracy never met a stranger and excelled at making everyone feel welcome in her home. Tracy possessed an uncanny motherly instinct as she always knew when someone needed to hear from her or needed something, she always made it happen.
Tracy was preceded in death by father Thomas Stover in 2020.
