Abraham David Godfrey

Abraham David Godfrey of Lincoln, Missouri, passed into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on October 4th in the early morning of natural, but unexpected causes. He was the Director of Sagrada Scholarship Bible Camp on The Lake Of The Ozarks. Abraham had most recently taught at Whitefield Academy in Kansas City, Missouri where he was the 6th grade teacher. He was 31 years old and leaves behind his wife, Kristen (Arthur) Godfrey and five children, Aiden (8), Vaughn (6), Emma (4), Jane (2), and Katherine (6 months). Abraham was a member of Bannister Road Baptist Church in Kansas City and he and his family traveled each weekend to attend their “home church” where he sang in the choir. Abraham had also previously taught at Elyria Christian School in Elyria, Kansas. He did interim and pulpit supply ministry for several churches in rural Kansas. Abraham graduated from Kansas City Christian School and Calvary Bible College. He is survived by his wife and children; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Lawrence; his paternal grandmother, Alma Godfrey; his father and mother Pastor Darrell D. Godfrey and Karen; four sisters, Anna (Jason) Jacobs, Arletta (Jeff) Classen, Alyssa Godfrey, & Aubrey (Jeremy) Carpenter; one nephew, Jordan Jacobs; six nieces, MacKenzie, Morgan, & Kaylynne Jacobs, Kimberly, Susan, and Ellie May Classen; 15 aunts & uncles; and, 17 cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Daryl Lawrence; paternal grandfather, Dan Godfrey; and niece, Victoria Classen.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday October 11, 2014 at Red Bridge Baptist Church, 4901 E. Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64137.
