Agnes Loftus

Agnes Loftus, 88, a lifetime resident of Shawnee, passed away Saturday morning December 13, 2008 at Homestead of Lenexa. Agnes was born November 16, 1920 to the late Joseph H. and Mary Ann Zahner in Lenexa, Kansas. She was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Al Loftus on June 25, 1991. She is survived by her children, Virginia Riehle & husband Jim, Olathe, Kansas; Ron Loftus & wife Cathy, Lenexa, Kansas; Tom Loftus, Lee's Summit, Missouri; her sister Mary Payne, Shawnee, Kansas; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family wants thank the staff of Lenexa Homestead for making her life so pleasant the past 3 years, and to Catholic Community Hospice for making her transition from life so comforting.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Catholic Community Hospice.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
