Alan Grant Ingraham

April 19, 1925 — February 5, 2015

Alan was born on April 19, 1925, in Hammond, Indiana, to C. Grant and Harriet Ingraham, graduated from Avonworth High School in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He was extremely devoted to his family, his church, the Northwestern Wildcats, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals and his golf game. Alan proudly dedicated his entire work life to sales positions with United States Steel Corporation, finishing his career as its Regional Manager of Sales in Overland Park, KS. His warm and generous personality was complemented by his big smile, unique laugh and wonderful sense of humor. Alan was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife and best friend for 67 years, Shirley, his children, Susan Killion (Doug) of Overland Park, KS, Bob Ingraham (Joyce) of Eldridge, IA and Jim Ingraham (Patti) of Lenexa, KS, his grandchildren, Sarah Sweeney (Mike), Jim Ingraham (Lindsey), Christine Reed (Eric), Rick Ingraham (Corinne), Lauren Ingraham (Danny), Amy Addington (Chad), Kathleen Ingraham, Rebecca Ingraham, Kathryn Killion and Hallie Ingraham, his great-grandchildren, Sarah Funck, Trionna Alexander, Jack Reed, Paige Hahn, Noelle Reed, Ethan Hahn, James Ingraham, Daphne Reed, Macy Addington, Kipton Hahn, Sam Ingraham and Mabel Addington, and his brother, Dick.

Services

Family and friends will gather at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9100 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66206, on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., to celebrate the life of Alan G. Ingraham, 89, who passed away on February 5, 2015. A luncheon at the Church will follow the funeral service. Private burial.
