Al "Zack" Mellon, 67, Overland Park, KS (formerly of Lake of the Ozarks) passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
Albert was born Sept. 25, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Albert and Betty (Chambers) Mellon. He was a 1966 graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School. Al was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and served during the Vietnam War. He retired as an Investigations Manager with AT&T in 1998, after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; two sons, Jon (Kristi) Mellon, Roeland Park, KS and Andy Mellon, Overland Park, KS; sister, Linda (Mark) Womelduff, Westwood, KS; and granddaughter, Hannah Mellon, Roeland Park, KS.
A celebration of life will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12 with a service at 7:00 p.m. at the Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, KS.
