Albert E. Patejdl, Jr. 97, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Sunrise of Lenexa, Kansas.
A lifetime area resident, Albert was born October 8, 1914, the eldest son of Albert E. Patejdl, Sr. and Marguerite Ashton in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mr. Patejdl retired in 1977 as an installer with Western Electric Company after 36 years of service.
He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army from 1942-46.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 64 years, June (Bumstead) Patejdl on July 17, 2006. Survivors include his son, Jerry Patejdl, Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Laura Blackwell and husband Jim, Lenexa, Kansas; brother, John A. Patejdl and wife, Helen; sister, Rita Nell Patejdl, both of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jeffrey B. Parker and wife, Andrea, Olathe, Kansas, Evan Blackwell and wife, Nichole, Olathe, Kansas, Lisa Blackwell, Lenexa, Kansas and Kelly A. Stimson and husband, Richard, Gardner, Kansas; three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
