Alec Osipik, 94, of Shawnee passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Alec is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Pernie N. Osipik and a brother Michael Osipik. He is suvived by children Marilyn Burson, and husband Ron, Alabama; Judy Holmes, Massachusetts; Jenny Haynes and Danny Adams and his wife Debbie, both of Shawnee. Thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive him.
Alec was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City, Kansas area. He served in the United States Navy on a P.T. boat in the Pacific during World War II. Alec was a member of the P.T. Boats and Tender Organization and former member of the Alzheimer's Support group in Shawnee. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He cared for his wife, Penny, at home until her death in 2007.
We are eternallly greatful for caregivers, Linda Medis, Thelma Kamyab and friend Lucille Smith who cared for our father and mother in their home.

Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow with military honors at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
