Alfred Forrest Lilly

Alfred Forrest Lilly, 74, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday evening, November 24, 2013.

Forrest was born in Aruba, Netherlands, West Indies on December 4, 1938, to Alfred Forrest Lilly, Sr. & Bertha Mae Walsh Lilly. He graduated from Westport High School in 1956 and enlisted in the Army shortly after.

Forrest was proud to serve his country in the 304th Signal Corporation during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. After his service to his country, he attended JCCC and later graduated from Rockhurst College with a B.S. in Economics. He was an Assistant Vice President - Computer Operations at Kansas City Life Insurance Company, completing 30 years of employment. Forrest was a wonderful husband and proud father who enjoyed tinkering on the computer and playing golf. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lenexa.

Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Forrest Lilly, Sr. and Bertha Mae Walsh Lilly; and brother, Bruce Anderson Lilly.

He is survived by his wife, Loree, of 42 years; children, Diana and Matthew Knox of Manhattan, Kansas, Jennifer Lilly and Jeffrey Corbett of Missoula, Montana, and Robert and Sara Lilly of Belton, Missouri; grandchildren, Ian Wesley & Katherine Elizabeth Knox, Kayne Kyle, Joseph Forrest, Colton Thomas & Jackson David Lilly.

Memorial Service will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Shawnee, Kansas. Visitation will be held before the service from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.. Burial and graveside service with Military Honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Forrest's name to the American Cancer Society or VFW Post 7397.
