Overland Park, Kansas

Alfred "Andy" Neal Anderson of Overland Park, KS, died at age 85 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He will be buried at Pleasant View Cemetery in Shawnee, Kansas.

Andy was born in Topeka, Kansas and was the youngest of 3 boys born to Joseph Raymond “Joe” and Hallie Gladys (Laird) Anderson. After Joe’s death when Andy was 10, Hallie re-married and had a daughter, JoAnne, and a son, Don Jr. At 17, Andy enlisted in the Navy and served 3 ½ years on a destroyer. He moved to Kansas City and met Linnea a year later at a VFW dance and they shared many happy years together. He worked as an air traffic controller for many years then as an outside sales representative, winning many sales awards.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, mother, older brothers JR and Bob, and younger brother Don, Jr. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Linnea Anderson, sister JoAnne Windsand Reed, son Brian (Cindy) Anderson, daughter Karen Anderson; grandchildren Jessica (Atlee) Vogt, Melissa Anderson, and Selden Anderson; and great-grandchildren Braxton Anderson and Ellea and Ethan Vogt; and many nieces and nephews. He was a family man, always concerned about the welfare of others. As he often said, “Keep on keeping on.”
