Alice E. Richardson, 90, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center.
Alice was born August 4, 1919 in Shawnee, Kansas to George M. and Leona (Callahan) Haas. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. Alice married Oliver A. Richardson on June 15, 1940 in Shawnee. She retired from TED Manufacturing in 1984. Alice enjoyed cooking, crocheting, fishing and was an avid Royals fan.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver A. Richardson on March 12, 2000; her daughter, Janet L. Jacobi on February 2, 1982; sister, Helen Zimmer; and brother, John Haas. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Carolyn (Roger) Starrett, Leesburg, Florida; Mike (Johnell) Richardson, Lawrence, Kansas; Tom (Terri) Richardson, Lenexa, Kansas; and Joyce (Paul) Soetaert, Shawnee; two sisters, Mary Henke, Shawnee, and Irene Smeltzer, Apopka, Florida; sister-in-law, Jane Sherman, Shawnee; six grandchildren, Andy (Tiffany) Starrett, Amy Dickenson, Jennifer Gross, Kara (Jason) Spurling, Jill (Rob) Aldredge and Kate (Aaron) Martin; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
Visitation and Funeral Service
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a Rosary Recitation will be at 6:00 p.m.
