Alice Etta Richardson

September 10, 1919 — April 16, 2015

Alice Etta (Baker) Richardson, 95, died April 16, 2015 surrounded by family.

Alice was born near Louisburg, Kansas to Elmer Franklin and Beulah Emma (Kelly) Baker on September 10, 1919. After graduating from Louisburg High School in 1937, she worked at the Agricultural Conservation for four years in Paola, Kansas.

She married Herman Edward Richardson July 5, 1941 in University City, Missouri. The couple spent most of their lives in Kansas City, Kansas before moving to Lakeview Village in 1993. Mr. Richardson passed away June 28, 1998.

Alice also worked twelve years for the Westport Cooperative Mission Inc. in the Westport area of Kansas City, Missouri. She began many programs operated by area churches of which several continue to exist. She was always very proud of this volunteer work and obtained a grant to help fund the programs.

She is a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church and has been a Presbyterian for 72 years.

Alice is survived by a daughter; Deanna Hutchinson, son-in-law Phillip, son; David Richardson and daughter-in-law Brenda, six grand children; Suzette Downing (James), Brian Hutchinson (Lori), Andrew Richardson (Nikki), Paul Richardson (Katelyn), Eva Richardson and Mary Richardson, seven great-grandchildren, sister Mary Helen Brummell (Nick) and sister-in-law Ann Mae Eden of Macomb, Michigan as well as several nieces and nephews.

Alice was an avid reader, quilter, loved to travel and produced genealogy for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at South Minister Presbyterian Church, 6306 Roe Avenue Prairie Village, Kansas 66208 at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2. A burial will be held on Monday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Louisburg Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials in Alice’s name to the Lakeview Village Foundation 9100 Park Street Lenexa, KS 66215.
