Allen D. Trimpe

Allen D. Trimpe, loving husband and father, passed away on April 6th, 2022 in Shawnee, Kansas at the age of 77 years old.

Allen was born on May 31st, 1944 to Paul and Mildred Trimpe in Williamsburg, Iowa. Allen attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Williamsburg, and Williamsburg High School before going to Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, Nebraska. He received a Masters of Education Degree from Western Michigan University.

Allen served the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod as both principal and teacher in congregations in Brooklyn and Bronxville, New York, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Ft. Wayne and North Judson, Indiana. Allen’s career expanded over 37 years, including teaching at Lansing Correctional Center, where he was able to work with prisoners who were interested in attaining their G.E.D.’s. He thoroughly enjoyed being a part of that program and ministry.

Allen enjoyed playing and watching any and all types of sports. He officiated different sporting events such as volleyball, basketball, and softball.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mildred Trimpe.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Trimpe; daughter Lisa (Dave) Periolat; son Chris (Amber) Trimpe; granddaughters Sydney Periolat and Kinsley Trimpe; two sisters Sharon (Warren) Pillard, and Shirley (Tom) Brazinsky; sister-in-law Eleanor McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14th, 2022 from 1-2pm with a service beginning at 2 pm, all at the Amos Family Funeral Home. For those unable to attend Allen's service, the family welcomes them to watch the livestream on our Facebook Page . He will be laid to rest in Lincoln, Kansas at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery on Friday, April 15th, 2022 at noon.

Memorial donations in honor of Allen may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church and to the Lutheran World Relief Organization .
