ALLEN T. WAGNER

Allen T. Wagner, 79, of Olathe, KS, passed away, Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Garden Terrace in Overland Park. Allen was born January 13, 1939 in rural Wabaunsee County, KS to Lewis A. Wagner and Gertrude M. Wilkie.

Allen grew up in the area around Eskridge, KS and graduated from Eskridge High School in 1957. As a young man he worked many jobs some of which were delivering milk cans to farmers, working as a driver for a funeral home. He also worked for a short time at Fanestil Meats, Dolly Madison in Emporia, before starting his career with the BNSF railroad where he retired in 2000 after 31 years of service.

Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a gentle, selfless, quiet, kind, hardworking man that loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lewis A. Wagner Jr; and son-in-law Jason Flanigan. Survivors include his wife Charlene Wagner; children, daughter Teri Stuart of Council Grove, KS; daughter Cheri Rojek and son-in-law Rick Rojek of Eureka Springs, AR; son Allen T. Wagner II. of Emporia, KS; daughter Amy Flanigan of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Jason Thomas, Allen (Ted) Wagner III, Adam Wagner, Jon Wagner, Grace Locke, Elizabeth Flanigan; great grandchildren, Natalie and Olivia Thomas; his sister Shirley Mossman of Overbrook, KS and her family, niece Trudy and Brady Anshutz; nephew Lee and Keni Mossman; great-nieces and nephews, Zach and Jennifer Anshutz, Cassidy Anshutz , Victoria Mossman, Laura Mossman, Phoneix Anshutz; as well as 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home on Friday, January 4th at 2:00pm with a luncheon to follow afterwards at the American Legion in Shawnee, KS.
