Jean Walters, 91, of Overland Park, KS, passed away May 3, 2015. Jean was born in KC, MO, graduated from Northeast High School in 1940, and attended Emporia State Teachers College and Central Missouri State College. She was united in marriage to a boy in her neighborhood, William L. "Bill" Walters, in 1947, after Bill returned from service in WWII. She and her husband enjoyed ballroom dancing, restoring Model A cars, and, as charter members, they enjoyed activities at Brookridge Country Club for 50 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Overland Electric for many years. Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bill Walters.

She is survived by daughter Shelley Hickman Clark, J.D. (James); son W. David Walters, M.D. (Leanna); grandchildren M. Scott Hickman, M.D.; Courtney Meyer, B.S.W.; Kelley Catlin, J.D.; Zachary Walters, Ph.D.; Nathan Walters, Ph.D.; six great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law John Walters. Jean loved her family deeply, worried about them daily, and will be forever missed.

Services

A visitation will be held at the Amos Family Funeral Home on Thurs., May 14, from 11am-12 noon. Private family memorial services will be held with burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
