Amanda E. Davis, 58, of Olathe, formerly of Overland Park passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home.
Amanda was born September 10, 1961 to the late Lester and Phoebe Wallen in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1980 and attended Johnson County Community College. Amanda worked for Hy-Vee for over 14 years as a customer service representative. She was an avid sports fan and attended the Church of the NFL every Sunday in the fall. She looked forward to spending time with friends and family rooting on her beloved Buffalo Bills and L.A. Chargers. Amanda was also a devout New York Yankee's fan. She also looked forward the annual pilgrimage to Indianapolis to watch the Indy 500 and watch Indy car races. Amanda enjoyed studying history, watching movies, and listening to music, especially Kansas and the Eagles.
Amanda was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Mike Oglesby; and her beloved cats, Jester, Duchess, Carter, Lou, Iris and Rzezzy. Amanda leaves behind her loving husband, Vernon Meyer; a daughter Hillary Englund; sister, Theresa Weber and her dear cat, Yankee.
A celebration of Amanda's life will be 3:30 pm Saturday, October 5, at the Fox and the Hound, 10428 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS as the Yankees play at 4:05. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Great Plains SPCA; 5428 Antioch Dr.; Merriam, KS, 66202.
