Amrik Hazra

Amrik Singh Hanjra passed away peacefully at his home on March 17, 2022. He was resident of Lenexa and was born in 1935 to Achhar Singh and Harnam Kaur in Punjab, India. After Amrik graduated from Khalsa College in Amritsar with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he found success as a senior accountant.

On September 21, 1958 he married the love of his life. He is survived by his wife, Surjeet Kaur, his sons, Balbir, Paramjeet, and Bobby, their wives, Harvinder, Kawaljeet, and Kamaljeet Kaur, and his grandchildren's Sonia, Kunal, his wife Michelle, Rony, Jasmeet, and Raymann.

Amrik had a strong passion and curiosity for learning. Even in his old age he had the strongest memory of anyone we knew.  He was a man of few words, so when he did speak, everyone listened. He loved reading books, and sharing his knowledge with his family and friends. He spent his life devoting and practicing Sikhism.

Services will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 11 -1pm in Shawnee, KS.
