Amy Lyn Vangosen

November 16, 1972 — September 23, 2021

Amy Lyn VanGosen 48, of Basehor, KS passed away September 23rd, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Scott, daughter Madison, sons Jackson & Cody (fiancée Jessica), and her granddogs Bo & Ginger all of the home. Her parents Joe & Deb Stankiewicz, sister Leigh Anne (Jeff) Goodman. Her parents in law Haskell & Daylene VanGosen, and sister in law Kim VanDyke. One niece, 3 nephews, one great nephew & two great nieces, two aunts, several cousins and many friends.

Amy was born on November 16th, 1972 in Kansas City, KS and attended elementary through High School in the Turner School District. She obtained her Associates Degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College and her Bachelors Degree from Park University in Parkville, MO.

She has worked at Kansas City Southern Railway for the past seventeen years in their Accounting Department.
Growing up Amy loved dancing and started with tap and ballet at Byrd Dance Studio at the age of five, and continued with Dixie Bell Dance and really enjoyed ballet as a preteen. She also loved playing basketball and softball throughout grade and middle school. She loved most sports and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Amy loved spending time with her kids and family outdoors, playing in the backyard. She liked going for a ride in the boat as well as driving around in the Camaro with the top down and music blasting (normally AC/DC, Metallica, or Zombie with some Luke Bryan and Garth Brooks mixed in).

Amy always put others first especially her children (she would fight a Tiger for them) and husband but the love didn’t stop there, she would give up everything in order to help all of her family and friends as well as strangers. Her favorite place and thing to do was to go to Disney World which she loved, but even more so she loved seeing the smiles on the faces of those she was there with. A close second to Disney World as her favorite is the Gulf Coast Beaches along the Florida panhandle. She loved to sit in the white sand and look out at the turquoise water as well as her kids playing in the water and on the beach.

Services for Amy will be held at The Amos Family Funeral Home on Saturday October 2nd, 2021 at 1:00 PM at 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS www.amosfamily.com
