Andrew D. Slater, 68, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away at his home on June 28, 2015. He was born in Baltimore, MD to Charles A. and Katrina P. Slater on June 30, 1946. He grew up and attended school in Prairie Village, KS. Andrew served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1970. He worked in HVAC, blacksmithing, culinary arts and as an interpreter at The Agricultural Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles P. Slater. Andrew is survived by his daughter, Katrina D. Slater of Overland Park, KS; granddaughter Ivy L. Hattaway of Overland Park, KS; sister Karen A. Basile of Nanticoke, MD.
