Anita Marguerita Gaudin Jackson was born October 27, 1925, and at the age of 87, God's angels took her home on Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Lenexa, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin O. and Libby Webb Gaudin. Anita was the oldest of her siblings, one sister, Inez Gaudin Adams and one brother, Rollin O. Gaudin, Jr.
Anita was married to George Jackson in July, 1948 and have been married for 65 years. Of this marriage four children were born. She attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School, St. Mary's Academy High School (1941) and Xavier University of Louisiana (1944). She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Home Economics degree. She was employed in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a home economics teacher and also taught in Orleans Parrish School System. She later went on to work at Haspel's Brothers Clothing.
In her lifetime, Anita resided in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later relocated to Kansas. Some of her interest were sewing, reading, cooking and her family. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in New Orleans, St. Theresa of the Little Flower and St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Orleans.
She leaves behind her husband, George Jackson; children, Deborah J. Hayes, Phyllis J. Evans, Burma A. Jackson (Elyania), Georlene J. Fowler, (Mitchell); seven grandchildren, Michelle Moore (Michael), Natasha Robinson, Shannon Dacus (Jeffery), Jason Evans (Kristen), Sherrill Barkman (Nicholas), Brandon Vander and Carl Henry; seven great grandchildren, Sydney, Alex, Kobe, Vincent, Regan, Dominic and Eve. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many more relatives, friends and loved ones.
The family would like to thank the Kansas City Hospice and Care staff employees for all their support in this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Visitation will began at 12-1:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
