Ann Mcbride

October 6, 1932 — March 23, 2018

Ann McBride was born October 6, 1932 in Lisa, Holland near Rotterdam. She went home to be with The Lord March 23, 2018, at the age of 85.  Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ann Knetsch and her brother, Louie Knetsch. Ann is survived by: husband, Lloyd McBride; children, Marc McBride, Mike McBride and Karen Zarda (McBride). Ann is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Brian McBride, Bridgit McBride, Chase McBride, Dustin McBride, Riley Dull, Andrew Zarda, Zach Zarda, and Bethany Dequine and 13 great grandchildren.

Ann grew up Holland and lived through a Nazi occupied town for much of her childhood. Her family immigrated to the Wichita Kansas area when she was 15 years old. She was determined to fit in at high school so she taught herself English with no accent. She was a brilliant person and graduated from Derby High School as Valedictorian at the age of 16!

Ann loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She served as an active member of the Wichita Junior League among other charitable service. She also spoke to numerous church groups about her testimony of growing up in Nazi occupied Holland and also how becoming a Born Again Christian not only changed her life but also saved her marriage. She loved playing golf, baking amazing sweet rolls and other delicious foods. Ann always was willing to serve others and was a gracious and talented host. She has had a profound impact on the lives of so many people throughout her courageous and well lived life. For all of us who knew her so well we know she is overjoyed at meeting her Heavenly Father. She has already heard those words she most wanted to hear: " Well done, thy good and faithful servant"

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 30 at the Family Life Center of Lifemission Church in Olathe, KS.
