Anna Marie “Honey” Burns

Anna Marie "Honey" Burns, 79, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

She loved her family, her friends as though they were her family, and her grandkids were her everything.

Marie joins her husband, Gene, of 55 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents; Lawrence and Lodi Graves, her brothers: Harry, Larry, and Bob Graves. She is survived by her children Steven Burns and Nancy Orcutt, three grandchildren: Jason (Robyn), Jeffrey and Ashley, and two great-grandchildren: Caleb and Jacob, as well as her sister Dorothy Griffin.

Marie also leaves behind four close friends who merit special mention; Clara and Joe Valdivia, who while family shared their love and families with each other for nearly sixty years, and Lynn and Larry Land who were neighbors and friends for nearly fifty years.

A visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday September 10 at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, KS. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Marie's family suggests contributions to Great Plains SPCA.
