Anna L. Tripkos, age 89, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away July 7, 2010, at Brighton Gardens Nursing Home in Prairie Village, Kansas.
Anna was born January 19, 1921, in Lowemont, Kansas, to Henry and Mabel (Schindling) Roach. She graduated from Cushing Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She started her career at Research Hospital then became an industrial nurse before retiring from Butler Manufacturing. Anna was united in marriage to Leo Dale Shughart in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1981. She married Melvin Tripkos in 1983.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo Dale Shughart, sister Frieda Wilson, and brothers, Kenneth and Byron Roach. She is survived by her husband Melvin; daughters, Vici Simmons (Dennis) and Cathy Mayweather (Bobby); granddaughters, Harmony, Noelle, Cori and Cali Simmons; three great-grandchildren; her sister Betty Templeton; and nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Brighton Gardens for their compassionate and loving care.

Visitation and Funeral Service
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A visitation with refreshments will follow from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery in Lansing, Kansas.
