Anne J Gaulding of Lenexa, KS passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
Anne was born on April 10, 1931 in Sangerfield, NY to the late Charles and Margaret Jackson. She graduated from St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY in 1952 with a degree in economics. At St. Lawrence, she met and soon married Edward C Monahan. Anne single-handedly raised four boys and spent countless summers at the 3&2 Ballpark and numerous concert halls throughout the Kansas City area supporting her sons. She was a Realtor for a number of agencies in the Johnson County area. She remarried Dillon R Gaulding in 1980. Together they spent the rest of their lives enjoying the fruits of their hard work. They enjoyed traveling overseas and spent a year on St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Anne and Dillon enjoyed playing bridge and traveled extensively across the U.S. playing in tournaments during their retirement. Her biggest enjoyment in life was family, she especially loved time with her sons and grandchildren. She was also an avid Kansas City Royals fan, never missing a game on TV.
Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Jackson, and by her husband of 38 years, Dillon, daughter Bonnie Jean Monahan, and brother, Leonard Jackson. She is survived by her siblings Jim Jackson and his wife Linda, Charles Jackson; sons Michael Monahan, Dennis Monahan and wife Julie, John Monahan and wife Kathy, Paul Monahan, daughter Sally Westmoreland and husband Butch; grandchildren Jon Matthew Monahan, Andrew Monahan, Ryan Monahan, Jessica Monahan, Tracy Monahan, Patrick Monahan, Daniel Monahan, Bonnie Monahan, Molly Monahan, Ashley Hibbs and her husband Donovan, and Scott Amer; great grandchildren Ezra Monahan, Bryanna Amer, Dillon Hibbs and Aria Hibbs.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Katie and the staff from Kindred Hospice as well as Yvonne and the staff from Lakeview Home Health for the exceptional care they provided Anne.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 13615 West 92nd Street, Lenexa KS 66215. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 10:30 am at the church. Anne will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. John's Cemetery in Lenexa.
