Anthony Robert Plummer died Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at his home in Merriam, Kansas. Anthony was born March 31, 1997 in Niceville, Florida to Robert and Helen Plummer. He lived with his family, Helen, his brother, Asa, and his grandparents, Bert and Sharon Hardy until he was 10. At age 10, he moved to Texas to live with his Uncle John and Aunt Joy with cousins, Mason and Kyle. Our family moved to Kansas in 2009. While in Kansas, Anthony attended Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. In 2015, Anthony moved back to Florida to be with his brother, Asa, and grandparents. While in Florida, he attended Chipley High School. He graduated high school in 2016.
Anthony was an athlete. He loved to try new things when he was young. He excelled in Taekwondo, played basketball and baseball, but found his true love in football. He started playing flag football in Texas and moved on to tackle football in 6th grade in Kansas with the Cougars team. He went on to play football in high school for both SMNW and Chipley. Recently, he was enjoying ping pong.
Anthony had a heart of gold. His love and empathy extended from people to animals to bugs. He would get very upset if someone squished a love bug around him. He could tell someone was hurting by looking at them from 100 ft away and would feel it in himself. He also had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He always had a different way of looking at things and would argue his point for years if necessary. This competitive streak really showed up in his passion for video games. He could talk trash with the best of them. He loved playing video games with his friends and his family. You could hear how much he loved it all over the house.
Anthony will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and every dog he has ever met. He is survived by his brothers, Asa Preston and Ernie Plummer, his sister, Emma Plummer, his grandparents, Sharon Hardy, Sid Plummer, and Debbie Westfield. He is also survived by his Uncle John, Aunt Joy and cousins, Mason and Kyle Thomas with whom he lived for 7 years.
