Anthony "Tony" Vielhauer

Anthony “Tony” Michael Vielhauer, 43, passed away on April 20th, 2021. Typical of all Vielhauers, he lived in Shawnee, Kansas most of his life. He attended Shawnee Mission North West High School and graduated in 1996, where he specialized in construction and wranglers. He married Emily Corbett on March 17th, 2007—it was the most epic St. Patrick’s Day in history.

He was a dedicated father to his three sons, helping coach their soccer and baseball teams. He enjoyed taking them camping and swimming.

Tony was the founding member of the Red Mistress BBQ team. He never tired of sharing barbecue and a drink with his friends over a laugh. If you were lucky you may have even gotten a ride on the cooler—aka The Cúber.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John “Jack” and Helen Vielhauer, and maternal grandfather George Ashworth. He is survived by his wife Emily, their three sons Owen (12), Asher (9), and Macklin (7); parents Pete and Sandy; sister Ann (Seth) Porter; maternal grandmother, Armella Ashworth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, April 26th at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1-3pm, with a funeral service at 3pm. The service will be broadcasted for anyone who cannot physically attend. Masks will be required to wear inside the funeral home, and a 90-person limit is in effect.
