Arlyn Donald Bauer

Arlyn Donald Bauer, 92, passed away on October 11, 2022 at Sharon Lane Health and Rehab Center.  He was born on August 13, 1930, in Ida Grove, IA, to Gustave and Elouise Bauer.

Arlyn is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nadine (Azeltine) Bauer.  He is survived by his four children, David (Terri) Bauer, Randy Bauer, Chris (Joan) Bauer, Shawn Kaiser; along with 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Arlyn served in the United States Navy from 1949-1953.  He was in the Korean War on the USS Valley Forge, along with several other ships. On the 50th anniversary of the end of the war, he received the Korean War Service Medal.

Arlyn loved sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs.  He was a kind soul, always had a smile on his face, and had a great sense of humor.  His family meant everything to him.  He loved to sit back at family gatherings and just “take it all in”.

There will be a funeral service for Arlyn at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 14, at Amos Family Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Wichita, KS on Monday, October 17, at 11 a.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to: American Cancer Society or American Heart Association
