Armida “Meda” Marie Baldwin

b. May 18, 1941

Armida "Meda" Marie Baldwin, 79, of Shawnee, KS passed away Friday morning at her home.

Meda was born May 18, 1941 to the late Henry and Iris Fitzkam in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.  She graduated from Notre Dame High School.  While in high school, she met Roy Baldwin, they were married on May 6, 1961.  In 1984 Roy and Meda moved to Shawnee.  She became active at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.  Meda worked for Lytle's Nutrition Store for several years and in the kitchen at St. Joseph School.

Meda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy Baldwin; a daughter, Christine Baldwin; son, Robert Baldwin and wife Berta; three grandsons, Michael Baldwin; Daniel Baldwin; Joshua Baldwin and wife Jacqui; a great granddaughter Eleanor Baldwin and daughter in law, Crystal Baldwin.  Meda is preceded in death by a son, David Baldwin and a sister, Becky Vorholt.

Services

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday February 12th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m, at the church.  Due to current COVID-19 restrictions masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced.  For those unable to attend in person, the services will be livestreamed, please click HERE to be directed to the broadcast.
