Atanascio Diaz, Jr.

August 6, 1933 — June 22, 2022

Atanascio Diaz Jr. passed away peacefully on June 22, 2022.  Atanascio was born on August 6th to Atanascio Diaz Sr and Micaela (Martinez) Diaz in Eskridge, Kansas. After graduating from Eskridge High School, he came to Kansas City, Missouri to obtain some college hours while working for a Steel Plant.

He met his beloved wife, Juanita, while attending a Quinceanera dance. This year they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Atanascio and Juanita celebrate their life together with their daughter, Renee, two grandchildren, Joe and Angela, along with five beautiful great grandchildren.

Atanascio was preceded by Juven, Manuel, Benjamin, MaryEllen and Jesse. He is survived by his brothers Bernaldino, Fred and sister, Helen. Along with several relatives and friends.

During his retirement years, Atanascio, loved to work on appliances, play cards, and take walks with his dog.

Service will be held at St. Gabriel Parish, 4737 No Cleveland, KCMO, on July 14th with visitation at 9:30 am followed by Mass at 10:30 am and Burial at 12:30 pm at VA National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.

We would like to thank the VA Hospital for all their support. The wonderful staff at Monarch for providing us with happy memories and laughter in Cameron, Missouri. Shalom Hospice Care for all their generosity, guidance and help.  Thank to Amos Funeral Home and Saint Gabriel Parish for the guidance they’ve provided us in the celebration of Anthony's life.
