Dr. Awadh Nath Singh passed away on November 09th, 2014. He was born 76 years prior on January 30th, 1938 in Maidhara, Bihar, India. After coming to the States in 1967, he earned a Master's degree in Agricultural Chemistry from Michigan State University. He would later earn his PhD in Biochemistry from Kansas State University. Though never renouncing his connection to his native India, Dr. Singh became one of Kansas City's sons. He worked for PBI-Gordon Corporation and developed the patents for several of their agrichemical compounds. His entrepreneurial spirit lead him to self-employment in international trade. He was a relentless Chiefs fan and soccer fan, and he loved the city that adopted him. Dr. Singh never lost his love for classical Indian music and the great movies from Bollywood's past. He married Dr. Linda C. Singh December 13th, 1979 and was a loving husband and father of five children. Dr. Singh was the living example of fatherhood and even with the chronic, debilitating ailment of Parkinson's disease, he never missed a practice, a game, a tournament, or a recital. His was a familiar face at all of the events in the Olathe School District. All who knew him knew the roar of his voice, the intensity of his love, and the passion with which he encouraged his family and friends to excel. He is missed and forever loved. May his soul find joy and peace in the highest planes of existence. Dr. Singh joins his father Sivnandan Rai Singh, his mother Prabhavati Devi Singh, his older brother Jaganath Singh, and his sister Dularo Devi Singh in eternal bliss. He is survived by his wife Dr. Linda C. Singh, his brother Parash Nath Singh, and his sisters Etwaro Devi Singh, Siddiqa Devi Singh, and Girija Devi Singh. His legacy lives on through his children Dr. Meena Kumari Singh, Dr. Sarita Kumari Singh, Arjuna Singh, Jaipal Singh, Asha Vinay Singh, his grandchildren Micah K. Leslie, Anjali H. Hocker-Singh, Avani H. Hocker-Singh, Akari H. Hocker-Singh, Niara D. Leslie and a host of family members including his grandniece and grandnephew Shashi Prabha Singh and her husband Dr. Pradyuman Kumar Singh and their children Elena Pradyuman Singh and Anirudh Pratap Singh who all reside in Kansas City.
