Barbara Sue Baier, 71, of Shawnee, passed away from a broken heart on September 20 2016 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Barbara was born October 22, 1944 to the late Benjamin E. Anderson and Arlene L. Hartwell in Kansas City, Missouri. On November 8, 1967 Barbara married the love of her life Johnny. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage before Johnny passed in September of 2012. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Sue Streeter in November of 2012. Barbara was a devoted grandmother and mother. She was member of American Legion Post 327 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid animal lover, and was also a member of the Humane Society. Barbara is survived by her son, Darren Martin Baier, and wife Elisa Kaye Williams; a cousin Val Wilson; and grandson, Benjamin John Joseph Moody.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 25th at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, September 26th at the funeral home. Barbara will be laid to rest next to her husband Johnny, at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens in Shawnee.
