Barbara Jean Campos

July 4, 1938 — January 9, 2023

Spring Hill

Barbara Jean Campos, 84, of Spring Hill, Kansas passed away on January 9, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Barbara was born in Nevada, Missouri to Clarence and Ona Mae Fanning.

Barbara was an only child of an Irish family and grew up in the Argentine area before marrying her husband. She was embraced by her husband's big family, and they shared their Mexican culture with her. She learned Spanish and spoke it fluently with her mother-in-law who taught her the language, customs, and the importance of the family.
She was a homemaker and took pride in raising her 8 children. When her children were grown, she did not hesitate to take on the challenge of helping with her grandchildren, staying involved and supporting their activities. She extended her love and gentle ways to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her extended great grandchildren.
She was always there to lend an ear to her children, grandchildren, and step grandchildren. Always patient and eager to listen and ask how their day was going.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Campos, a son, Jesse Martin (Marty) Campos and great great granddaughter Alaia Mirey Fino.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Campos; Frank Campos Jr; Maria Elena Campos (Larry Peters); Linda (Rick) Galbraith; Dominic Campos; Carmen Campos Huse; Michele Campos Lynch (Michael, deceased); (16 grandchildren), (27 great grandchildren), (5 step grandchildren), (18 step great grandchildren, (1 step great grandchild).

She leaves a loving legacy to all who knew her and is now reunited with her soul mate who remained in her heart until the time of her passing. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. She will be missed by all, especially her feline friend Buddy.
