Barbara Ann Renfro, 65, Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Barbara was a graduate of UNCG (Phi Beta Kappa), received her MA at Indiana University and her MA in Library Science from Winthrope University. She taught 11th grade English at Myers Park High School before becoming a Media Specialist at Sharon and Pinewood Elementary Schools.

Barbara was an avid sports fan, following the Panthers through thick and thin. She loved the original Charlotte Hornets basketball team. Most of all, she loved antiques, art and finding deals in flea markets. She was a good sport who was able to laugh at herself, and to honestly enjoy the humor of high school students. She had a good heart, always willing to help out students and friends. She was a true good friend to many. She loved her dad and later that love was transferred to her nieces.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert T. and Mattie I. (Wilkinson) Renfro and sister Patricia Anthony. Survivors include her sister, Margaret Minea and her husband, Todd and their two daughters, Allison and Samantha.
