Barbara A. Thompson

Barbara Ann Thompson, 76, Olathe, KS passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Villa St. Francis, Olathe, KS.  Barbara was born Feb. 2, 1941 in Otwell, AR. She was a social worker for the State of Iowa for many years. After she retired from the State she joined the planning team at Walmart.

Barbara loved to travel and in her free time, she loved to read. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Johnson and son, Christopher Staley. Survivors include her five daughters, Kim (Aaron) Lichtenberger, Lynette (Ron) Koch, Robn Staley, Kelley Shepherd and Dawn (David) Hansen; two brothers, Bob (Shirley)  Calkin and Walter (Sharon) Johnson; grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Goebel, Father Nathan Goebel, Ashley (Mark) Harcharik, Joshua Bonstead, Karisa Bonstead, Jessica Staley, Christopher Staley, Alaric Shepherd, Coel Shepherd, Austin Hansen and Alex Hansen; great grandchildren, Hannah, Bekah, Sophia, Margaret, Emma, Kennedy, Aaron and  Owen.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Amos Family Funeral Home.
