Bertha L. Millsap

Bertha L. Millsap passed away on June 20, 2023 at her home at the age of 97 years old.

She was born on August 1, 1925 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Oscar and Rosetta Powell. She was the eighth of nine children, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She married Eugene Humphrey on August 17, 1941 in Mammoth Spring, AR and together they had a daughter, Frances. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1948 and were members of Calvary Baptist Church. On April 22, 1955, Bertha, Eugene and Frances were all baptized together at the church. Eugene passed away in 1982.

In 1985, Bertha and Charles Millsap were wed on October 12th. She and Charles enjoyed traveling, with one of her favorite trips being an Alaskan cruise. They were happily married until his passing in 2016.

Bertha worked for 32 years at Sunshine Biscuit Company, and retired with them. She served her Lord and Savior by being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always sharing the love of Jesus to all she met.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Marlow; grandson John Condron; four great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and Charles (Lea) Millsap, and Kenny (Chantel) Millsap.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
