There she met Arthur Wood "Woody" McNaughton and they were married on Wednesday, September 4, 1957, on her parent's 25th Anniversary at Oakley Methodist Church. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before his death in July 2016.

LuAnn and Woody settled into married life and soon children came along: Robin, Shelly, and Brian. For her service to the Marine Corps, as a travel specialist during Desert Shield, she received the US Navy's Meritorious Civilian Service Award in 1991.

In retirement, LuAnn and Woody traveled the world-collecting photos and making memories along the way. In retirement, they wintered in Hawaii and Gulf Shores, Alabama. They also enjoyed lake life at the Lake of the Ozarks and making friends along the way. Amid the travel and retirement life, LuAnn kept a busy schedule attending the sporting and musical events of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. In her later years, she found fulfillment by volunteering and spending time at Shawnee United Methodist Church, and with the United Methodist Women and FCE.
