Bettie M. Mccarthy

Bettie McCarthy, 83, of Overland Park, KS passed away on February 24th, 2021.  She was born in Shawnee, KS to Lynn and Martina Owen.

Bettie married Jack McCarthy in 1957 and grew a family of four children. While raising her children, she earned two Masters Degree's at Avila College.  She went on to start her own social work and marriage counseling practice. Bettie and Jack loved to travel all over the world including Australia, Ireland, and Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Lynn & Martina Owen (Pflumm); stepmother, Josephine Owen; and brother, Jack Owen.  She is survived by her children, Brian (Mary) McCarthy, Dan (Susan) McCarthy, John (Velinda) McCarthy and Kathleen (Bob Hampton; and grandchildren, Michael, Delaney, Katie and Joe.

Mass of Christian Burial to take place Saturday, February 27th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery to follow Mass.
