Betty Jeanne Behne

Betty Jeanne Behne, 84, Shawnee KS died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 in Shawnee, KS. She was born Aug. 1, 1929 to Callie and James Hames in Kansas City, MO. She worked for AT&T Long Distance after her high school graduation. She then married Bob Lewis in 1948. With love and patience, Betty raised two sons, and three daughters. In 1983, Betty married Richard Behne, with whom she lived in Shawnee where she served as the Assistant City Clerk to the City of Shawnee until her retirement at age 65. Betty leaves behind her loving husband, Richard; her sons, Steve (Cassy) Lewis, San Antonio, TX and Jim (Carolyn) Lewis, Lecompton, KS; daughters, Barbara Miller, Leawood, KS and Peggy Groce, Southport NC and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia, two brothers, and a sister. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
