Betty M. Hunter, 97, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away September 26th, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1st, 2021 at Monticello United Methodist Church. Followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Betty will be laid to rest in Monticello Union Cemetery following her funeral.
Betty was born on April 23, 1924 in Butler, Missouri to Robert and Leila Zilliox.She grew up in several places but called Lenexa her home and lived there for over 60 years. Betty graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1942 in Lawrence Kansas. She went on to Kansas University for 2 years. After college met and married her late husband Scott in 1945. They had four children: Sara, Scott Jr., Nancy, Robert.
Betty had been an active member of her church since1956 and she helped in cutting squares for lap quilts up until a short time before she passed.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Scott Hunter Sr.; her parents; her brothers Bob and Rawleigh and sisters Norma and Thelma; and two great grandchildren Devin Hunter and Isabella Rosales.
She is survived by her children Nancy Fulks, Sara Hipsher (Jack), Scott Jr. (Michelle) Hunter and Robert (Judy) Hunter;
Grandchildren Ben Hipsher, Michael and Rob Hunter, Scott III and Jon Ryan Hunter, and Julio Rosales; and 6 great grandchildren.
