Betty Jean Lowe

Betty Jean Lowe, 87, of Shawnee, passed away, Thursday, October 11, 2012 at her home. Betty was born in Kansas City, MO and grew up in Carl Junction, MO. She married Josiah (Joe) Lowe on October 31, 1942 in Joplin, MO. They moved to the Kansas City area in 1958. She worked in accounting for Harcros Chemical for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Joe preceded her in death on May 11, 2002.

Betty leaves a legacy of unconditional love that lives on in her family, which includes a daughter, Sharon Kae Etzen, of Shawnee, KS; a son, Ron (Patti) Lowe, Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren, Jason, Lindsay, Ryan, Lauren, Amy, Jake, and Aron and six great grandchildren, Adriana, Ava, Ahna, Sarang, Caynen, Heinrich, and two on the way.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Monday at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice or the American Heart Association.
