Betty Jean Ruiz

Betty J. Hinkle-Ruiz born July 13, 1937, passed away Oct. 12, 2022, at the age of 85.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Unity - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2646 S 34th St, Kansas City, KS 66106 with a visitation starting at 9:00 am; a private family burial will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Betty was born in Guilford, Missouri to Lymon J. and Mildred Katheryn (Coil) Hinkle.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Dean in 1959, and her husband of many years, Henry Ruiz who passed in 2009.

She is survived by five of her children: Henry Ruiz (Jerri), William Ruiz, Ruth Rodriguez (David), Brenda Davis (Thomas) and Sandra Ridings; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Betty attended Argentine High School; received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Kansas; and retired as a first-grade teacher from Emerson Elementary.
Betty enjoyed traveling, reading and being surrounded by family.
