Beverly (Boly) Cole

Etna, Ohio

Beverly Clara Cole (Boly) formerly of Shawnee, Kansas, passed from this life on September 21, 2022 at home in Etna, Ohio.

Beverly, also known as Bev to her family and friends, was born on January 6th, 1940 in Petosi, Missouri to Roy and Lynne Boly.  Bev married James Nappier in October of 1956.  They had four children.  Beverly Ann Vlasek (Nick) of Hunt, Texas; James Nappier, Jr. (Lacy) of Loxahatchee, Florida; Alan Dale Nappier (Margaret) of Lake City, Florida; Cheryl Lynn Potts of Etna, Ohio.  They lived in various locations near military bases during Jay’s 20-year military career. They settled in Shawnee, Kansas after Jay’s retirement from the Navy in 1974. Jay and Beverly divorced in 1979 but would remain lifelong friends.  Beverly later married William Davis of Paola, Kansas where they enjoyed living the country life until their divorce.  Beverly then moved to Oregon to be near her son Jim for a few years before returning to Kansas.  Beverly then spent the remainder of her life with her daughter Cheryl, living in Texas, Kansas, and Ohio.  Bev enjoyed vacationing to Mexico, and frequently visited Kansas, Texas, and Florida to visit her family.

With a lifelong love of plants and flowers, Beverly worked in various greenhouses, including Family Tree Nursery located in Shawnee, Kansas.  Bev also had a love of animals and had various pets throughout her life.  A mischievous rescue kitten named Grace, spent her entire life with Beverly, as the two became inseparable.  Grace passed a day after Beverly.

She is survived by her four children as listed above; grandchildren Raechel Page (Clay) of Shawnee, KS; Tara Hise of San Angelo, Texas; Stephanie Solomon of Granbury, Texas; Carey Nappier of Fort Worth, Texas; Jessica Nappier of Nashville, Tennessee; and Beth Nappier of Charlotte, North Carolina.  10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and multiple nieces and nephews.  Also survived by sister Bonnie Lawson of Shawnee, KS; sister Joanna Soless (Frank) of Bridgeton, MO.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father Roy Boly; her mother and step-father; Lynne and George Weber; sister Dolly Faye Greenwood; William Boly; Grady Boly; Ralph Boly.

Visitation will be held Friday September 30th from 6 to 7:30 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee KS.  Services will be held on October 1st at 12:30 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee KS, followed by the burial at Shawnee Memorial Gardens, also in Shawnee, KS.
