Beverly Kaye Wise

Beverly Kaye Wise, 71, Shawnee, KS lost her brief battle with cancer Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Kaye was born Nov. 13, 1942 in Independence, IA to Milton and Miriam Karstadt. She earned her Business Administration degree from the University of Arkansas. Kaye retired from DST Inc. in 2013.

Kaye had a passion and love for nature, the outdoors and animals of any kind. She was "Mama Kaye" to almost all who knew her because she was so selfless and wanted to help everyone. She loved to travel and lived life to its fullest. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away."

Kaye is survived by her son, Steven (Chris) Wise, Shawnee, KS; daughter, Kristi Wise, Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Ryan Wise and Megan Wise, Shawnee, KS and her beloved dog, Bella.

Memorial services will be held 10 am, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Powell Gardens chapel, 1609 NW Hwy. 50 Kingsville, MO. Luncheon Reception following the service beginning at noon on Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church located at 13402 W. 92nd St. in Lenexa
