Billie G. Gasser, 84, of Shawnee, Kansas, died on Friday, June 18, 2010, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Billie was born Dec. 26, 1925 in Pierce City, Missouri, son of William and Katherine Gasser. He was a 50 year member of the United Transportation Union.

Billie is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Katherine Gasser, and sister Ann Diem.

Billie is survived by wife, Eva "Dolores" Gasser; two daughters, Janice (Danny) Chance of Checotah, Oklahoma, and Elizabeth Gasser, Shawnee, Kansas; six sons, John (Kathy) Gasser, Manhattan, Kansas, Kenneth Gasser, Shawnee, Kansas, Thomas Gasser, Roeland Park, Kansas, Richard (Rhonda) Gasser, Shawnee, Kansas, Daniel Gasser, St. Paul, Minnesota and Peter (Leslie) Gasser, Roeland Park, Kansas; three sisters, Julia (Everett) Fritz, Monett, Missouri, Margaret (Jack) Gilmore, Shell Knob, Missouri and Kathleen (Jack) Fritts, VanBuren, Arkansas; three brothers, Gene Gasser, Larry (Loretta) Gasser, and Edward (Phyllis) Gasser, all of Pierce City, Missouri; and 17 grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where a Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, June 21, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
