Billie D. Golubski

Billie D. Golubski, 88, Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday, January 26, 2021 at her home. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Billie was born on February 26, 1932 to Otto and Grace (Miller) Schlossman in Pineville, Missouri.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Gene and son, Gary. Survivors include her son, Steven E. Golubski; three grandchildren, Alexander C. Golubski, Bennett E. Golubski and Micah (MC) Golubski. Bennett is engaged to Sarah Sexton & Micah to Mac Shiomi.

Billie grew up on a small farm in Anderson, Missouri.  They provided dairy, chickens, eggs, berries and herbal remedies.  Billie's great grandmother was dear to her heart, a German born herbal remedist & her great  grandfather was a cherokee shaman. There was no electricity on the farm.  The farmhouse burned down by a kerosine lamp fire.  All photos, recipes, potion notes, family history were kept in the family bible, also destroyed by the fire. (The photo above is the only early record of her, shown at age eleven) Billie along with her family moved to KCKS to obtain work. Billie lived a few doors down from my father, Gene and were later married. In 1960 Billie & Gene moved to Shawnee, Kansas. Billie was a member of St. Joseph's in Shawnee, KS and was a very spiritual person. She eventually worked her way into an ER Administrator position at Advent Health (then SMMC). Billie was awarded employee of the year in the late 1970's. Also, I will say so myself, Mom & Dad had two wonderful sons and three awesome grandchildren.. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her!
