Billie Ruth Rhymes

Billie R. Rhymes, 88, Mission, KS passed away from the cares and joys of this world March 31, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Billie received her BS in Nursing from Bradley University and Master's degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Throughout her career, Billie made significant contributions to psychiatric nursing and was well respected throughout the community.

Billie loved all animals, especially her dogs. She was an equestrian, winning competitive shows with her horses.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Rhymes in December 1974. She is survived by three cousins, William Hurst, Indianapolis, IN, Sally Meyer and Thomas Truitt, both of Fishers, IN. She will be sorely missed by many good friends of longstanding and her care giver in the home this past year, Martha Wilson.

A celebration of Billies life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. Friends may call 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or an animal shelter of your choice.
