Billy Joe Ford of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away in his home June 25, 2010.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, served in the Johnson County Kansas area Firefighter Association in many different capacities, where he retired as Fire Chief of Shawnee, Kansas in 1982 after thirty-eight years of service.

He is survived by his wife Shelia Ford; three daughters Mary Bailey of Puyallup, Washington, Deborah Ford of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Jessica Prince of the home; four sons David Ford of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeremy Prince of Belton, Missouri, Joshua Prince and Richard Ford of the home; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Skywalk Memorial Foundation Fund, c/o GKCCF, 1055 Broadway, Suite 130, Kansas City, Missouri 64105.

Visitation and Memorial Service

Friends may call from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Memorial service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the chapel; inurnment will be in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
