Bob Joe Bamburg, 79, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Lakeview Village. Bob was born April 27, 1936 to the late Leonard and Irene Bamburg in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Forestry, 1960. Later he pursued his post graduate studies at Oregon State University. On August 30, 1958, Bob married Ruth Swanson. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Bob enjoyed tending his garden and spending time with his family. He was a proud grandfather, and loved watching is grandchildren participate in various activities. He is also preceded in death by his son, Mark Bamburg in 2009. Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Ruth; his children, Michael (Julie) Bamburg; Barb (Jeanne Crouch) Bamburg; Jim Bamburg; four grandchildren, Max, Jack, Abby and Grace.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 5 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Bob's life will follow at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
