Bobbie Lorraine Strong

With great sorrow, Bobbie Lorraine Strong, age 85, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away November 17, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Merriam, Kansas to William and Florence (Huff) Palmer on March 10, 1938. She grew up in Shawnee with her sister Jane and brother Butch and had a great childhood. She attended Shawnee Mission High School (class of 1956) and went on to get her bachelor’s degree from Kansas University. She started her career at Saint Luke’s Hospital and then went on to work for the Mission Medical Clinic for 36 years as a Medical Technician.

Bobbie met and married her husband William Strong of 42 years, on November 19, 1981. Combined together they have 4 children, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren that they have supported and loved tremendously. Bobbie loved to attend her grandchildren’s games, concerts, programs, church activities, Sunday School classes and much more.

Bobbie dedicated her life service to Overland Park Church of Christ. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Teaching God’s love to children was deeply important to her. In addition, she devoted her time to the Benevolence Ministry and the Wedding Ministry. Many of her relationships with her beloved friends were made at the church.

Bobbie is survived and missed by her loving husband William of 42 years; and her children, Andrea Faddis and her husband Chris of Lenexa, KS, Thad Strong of Berger, MO, Randal Strong (deceased) and his wife Marilyn of Olathe, KS, and Heather Coombs of Overland Park, KS. Forever cherished and remembered by her grandchildren, Christopher (C.J.), Payton, Kristina, Kendra, Tamera, Lucinda, Maranda, Andrew, Patrick, and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the Memorial service at 12:00 p.m. followed by the burial service. ​​
