Bonnie Virginia Belt Hanson

Bonnie Virginia Belt Hanson of Overland Park KS, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018.

Bonnie was born November 18, 1923 to Sam and Merle Coffey Autry.  She married William Belt in 1941.  He died in 1978.  She married Jim Hanson in 1983.  He died in 1988.

Bonnie worked for Sydney and Molly Ball for many years (Balls Grocery Stores).  After her retirement she worked for Hy-Vee in Overland Park.  She was very active in her church and attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. Bonnie was a 66 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron of Sincerity Chapter #295, later consolidated with Gladiola #459, Kansas City KS. She was a former Grand Representative of Oklahoma in Kansas. She was an active member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce as a (red jacket) Diplomat and Ambassador.

In addition to her two spouses, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hubert, Bill and Sam and one sister Gertrude.  Survivors include her two daughters, Bonita Ford and Willie Ann Claypool (Jim).

Three grandsons, Guy Manion, Aaron Forson and Jared Forson.  Four great grandchildren: Ava Forson, Robert Manion, Christina Lawson, Jacqueline Balderas.  Eleven great great grandchildren:  Dallas, Hailey, Da'Sean, DreQuan, Angelina, William, Tristan, Allana, Bella, Enrique and Homero.

Services will be held at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, from 12 - 1 followed immediately by Eastern Star and funeral services. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests contributions to Shriners Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
